Use the minimap more. Perhaps show unopened chests in the explored sections, or enable teleportation through cleared areas.

Right now walking across the map takes awhile, and when there are no enemies to kill it's a bit of a drag. Enabling some kind of minimap teleportation through already-cleared areas would be helpful, as would showing unopened chests so that we know if there's something (like a gold chest) worth going back to retrieve.
